Travis Software Corp. History
Travis Software Corp. was founded in June, 1986, shortly after the enactment of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) which mandated group health continuation for the first time and created the market opportunity for the Company's first product, the TravisCobra software system. After TravisCobra's early success, we expanded our product offerings, releasing TravisFlex in 1987 and the Retiree Premium Billing System in 1989. Over 4,000 employers, TPA's and benefit administrators have installed these three systems (and their Windows-based successors) to aid them in administering the employee benefits offered to employees, retirees and dependents. Travis provides support on each of the systems, and we've updated each of our systems over the years, keeping up with new and changing Federal and State benefit laws and regulations and adding features suggested by customers. The Company also has an aggressive development program for new products, such as the systems released to meet the new Federal HIPAA law in 1997, 32-bit and client-server versions of its existing products and new products designed to meet additional benefit administration needs of new and existing customers. Travis is owned by its founder, Alan H. Williams, and is based in Houston, Texas. The Company closed 2005 with revenues of $3.5 million, and has been solidly profitable each year since its founding in 1986.
Travis Software Corp. Staff
Employee benefits administration is a specialized field, and in order to provide software to benefits professionals, Travis has built its own team of benefits-experienced people to develop, support and maintain our systems. The group our customers and prospective users contact most frequently is our Customer Support group, which has drawn heavily from insurance carriers for its staff. The understanding of the benefits and laws on which our software is based helps the support staff understand what a customer is trying to accomplish and provide solutions quickly. The support people also are the ones who gather information about the improvements our customers want added to the systems, and feed those to the development staff. Travis' development staff is a key asset of the Company. The development staff has an average of seven years with Travis, so we've been able to build on their knowledge of benefits and the benefits laws our systems model to develop new products and new releases of existing products quickly.
